Youth Services, formerly Angles
prideSOCIAL Drop-In, ages vary by location
Glenview: LGBTQ+ youth grades 9-12 and second semester 8th grade, meets 1st and 3rd Wednesday 6:30-8:00pm at Youth
Services of Glenview/Northbrook (3080 W Lake Ave, Glenview)
Grayslake: for LGBTQ+ youth, meets 1st Thursdays, 5:30-7:00 ages 12-14, 6:30-8:00 ages 14-19 at the Grayslake Library (100 Library Lane in Grayslake)
This social and recreational drop-in is a chance for LGBTQ+ youth to build relationships with each other and hang out. Participants do a brief check-in for introductions, and then enjoy a loosely structured activity, such as game night, art/craft night, movie night, etc. Programming is facilitated by Youth Services staff and volunteers, and snacks are provided. RSVP not required; youth can just show up!
prideSUPPORT: SWAG
Fall session: Tuesdays 9/12-10/31, 6:00-7:30p, Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook
This support group for trans and nonbinary youth in grades 9-12 is an opportunity to build relationships and get support related to gender identity. Facilitated by Ari Groner, LSW, group includes a check-in, discussion topic, and opportunities to socialize with other participants (with pizza!). Those who wish to join this group should reach out to Ari at [email protected]
